Fresh done with finals yesterday, a friend and I found ourselves driving around the neighborhood with absolutely NOTHING to do. I asked her “what happened to all of our friends?” She noticed that there weren’t that many houses with christmas lights or decorations. And come to think of it, I haven’t much been in the christmas kind of mood this year. I was talking to my mom earlier this week and she said “I wish we could skip Christmas this year, it’s like they’re saying we have to be happy, even if we don’t want to be” Poor mom! But I agree.
Anyhow, I’m going to post this song by Daniel Johnston called “Rock Around the Christmas Tree” because it’s pretty cool. I can picture it being in the soundtrack of some indie movie about a dysfunctional family coming together on Christmas and coming to terms with some sort of indie-appropriate tragedy. Or better yet, an artsy indie romance movie. With Zooey Deschanel. Yeah.
